主讲人简介

Dr. Sharafat Ali, Distinguished Associate Researcher at Chengdu University, specializes in the photophysics and photochemistry of nanostructured materials. His research focuses on developing efficient photocatalytic systems for solar energy conversion, with dual applications in (1) sustainable fuel production and (2) degradation of high-concentration environmental pollutants. Utilizing advanced characterization techniques including steady-state and transient surface photovoltage spectroscopy, Dr. Ali investigates charge carrier dynamics at fundamental levels. He has authored/co-authored 70 SCI-indexed publications in high-impact journals such as Advanced Functional Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Advanced Energy Materials, with multiple articles appearing in Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Journal of Hazardous Materials.



主讲内容简介:

This lecture will systematically address critical challenges and breakthroughs in amine-functionalized metal-organic framework heterojunctions for selective solar-driven CO2 reduction. Key highlights include: (1) Novel amine functionalization strategies to modulate Cr-3d electronic states and establish dynamic -NH2/-NH3+ proton relays for suppressing competitive hydrogen evolution, (2) Mechanistic insights into S-scheme charge transfer dynamics via femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy and operando X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and (3) Synergistic effects of MOF/g-C3N4 heterojunctions in simultaneously enhancing photocatalytic CO₂-to-CO selectivity and solar-to-fuel conversion efficiency.
